The Goods Shed

The Goods Shed on Church Street is Wodonga's craft beer and pizza pub, set up in an industrial shell a couple of blocks from the river. It trades Wednesday to Sunday from 11:30am, running late on Fridays and Saturdays, and stays dark Mondays and Tuesdays. The beer selection is the headline, with a rotating craft list on tap, and the kitchen covers the wood fired end of pub food: the El Diablo pizza, a chicken burger with its own following, calamari and a set of vegan options.

This is one of the clearer dog policies on the Border, because it comes straight from the venue. The Goods Shed's own Facebook post states that dogs and animals of all kinds are welcome in the outside area, and that the venue provides water bowls, which is as close to a written invitation as a pub gets. The outside area is where you and the dog settle, and given the regional climate that is the comfortable choice most of the year.

The vibe

Reviewers point at the beer range first and the food close behind, and live music nights lift the energy on weekends. For dog owners the outside area is the draw: room to sit a dog out of the flow, water on arrival, and a kitchen that turns around pizzas fast enough to keep the evening simple. Arrive earlier on music nights if you want a quiet corner.
