Belvoir Park Dog Park

Belvoir Park Dog Park is a large, fully fenced off-leash area on Reuss Road in Wodonga, set inside the wider Belvoir Park precinct beside the lake. The draw is space and variety: open grass, established shade trees, two agility runs and a separate pen for timid or smaller dogs.

The dog setup

Off-leash is permitted only inside the signposted fenced boundary; the rest of Belvoir Park, including the lake loop, stays on-lead under Wodonga Council rules. Dogs must stay under effective voice or hand control, owners stay inside the fence, and any dog showing aggression gets leashed and removed.

Water taps and bowls, shaded and unshaded seating and bag dispensers sit inside the enclosure, though carry your own bags as backup. The separate quieter pen takes the pressure off nervous or small dogs on busy days.

Max: if your dog reads as anxious at the gate, use the timid-dog section instead of pushing into the main run on a weekend. It takes the social pressure right off.

Worth knowing

Weekend mornings and afternoons and weekday evenings after work are the busy windows; weekday mornings and middays leave the agility gear free. Ducks and waterbirds work the lake shoreline, so keep a lead on near the water if your dog is a chaser.

Getting there and parking

The dog park entrance is on Reuss Road, a short drive from central Wodonga, with free parking near the gate and additional access off Huon Street. The flat paved path network around Lake Belvoir also brings you in on foot or by bike, and it is wheelchair accessible.

While you are out there

The wider precinct makes a full outing of it: a walking loop around the lake, public toilets, barbecues and a large playground on the other side of the park. For coffee afterwards, La Moka Cafe and Blind Freddy's Cafe are both dog-friendly stops in Wodonga.
