The Post Office Club Hotel is a restored 1871 pub at 120 St Kilda Road, mixing traditional charm with a French brasserie menu. The dog draw is a leafy, vine-draped courtyard.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard, a step-free, vine-covered space with umbrella cover and comfortable seating. Indoors is generally for people, so ask on arrival if you are unsure. Water bowls are usually available on request, but a collapsible bowl is worth packing.

Good to know. The pub is known for steak nights, pub classics and Guinness on tap, with open fireplaces inside and a vinyl DJ on Saturday nights. It has been running since 1871.

Getting there. Trams run along St Kilda Road near the St Kilda Junction stop. Metered street parking on St Kilda Road and the side streets fills quickly on weekends, so check the signage.

Nearby with the dogs. Albert Park Lake is a short walk for a pre- or post-pub stroll, with the St Kilda Botanic Gardens a few minutes on and Fitzroy Street heading down toward the bay.
