Happy Alley is a much-loved Rockdale sandwich shop tucked in a laneway off Bay Street, known for stuffed kaak breads, bagels and oversized deli sandwiches. Its outdoor seating sits in the alley itself, which is where a dog can join you, so it works best for a takeaway-style stop rather than a long sit-down.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables in the alleyway, not inside. The space is compact and gets busy, so it suits a well-socialised dog that is relaxed with people passing close by. Bring your own water bowl.
