ROAR CAFE

ROAR Cafe is a health-leaning cafe in Rockdale, a short walk from Rockdale Station on the T4 line, that shares its space with a fitness gym community. It is one of the more openly dog-welcoming spots in the suburb: the owners regularly post visiting dogs on their socials and set water bowls out for them, so a dog is genuinely part of the plan here rather than grudgingly tolerated.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the casual, roomy outdoor seating. Staff look after visiting dogs with water and the occasional treat, and the setup works well as a landing spot after a walk. It is a counter-and-tables kind of place rather than a long brunch venue, which suits a quick refuel stop with a dog on the lead.

The menu

The food leans health-conscious: fresh juices and smoothies, protein bowls, salad bowls, light small plates and grab-and-go bakery items, with vegetarian and vegan adjustments available and solid specialty coffee alongside. Hours run 6am to 3pm weekdays and 8am to midday Saturdays, closed Sundays, so it is an early-and-early operation, convenient if you walk the dog before work.

Getting there and parking

Being close to Rockdale Station, it is an easy walk from the platform, and street parking is available nearby, though the main-road side streets fill quickly at busy times.

Close by with the dogs

For off-lead time, the Kyeemagh Off Leash Dog Area at Lady Robinsons Beach is a short drive east, with the Cook Park Trail running past it along the water. If you want a second dog-friendly table in the suburb, Boschetto Cafe is the local alternative, and the Brighton Le Sands walking path makes a good add-on leg towards the bay.
