Jetty Lounge

Jetty Lounge sits at 171 Redcliffe Parade with the Redcliffe Jetty and Moreton Bay spread out in front of it, which is the whole reason to come: a bay-view breakfast or lunch with your dog settled at the outdoor tables along the strip. The cafe opens Tuesday to Sunday from 7am to 2:30pm, with breakfast service through the morning, and it closes Mondays. Bookings are taken and worth making for weekend brunch, when the parade side of Redcliffe is at its busiest.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the open-air, street-side seating along the parade front, on a lead and beside the table, while the indoor dining room stays for humans. This stretch of Redcliffe Parade is an established dog-walking strip, so staff are used to four-legged guests and reviewers regularly mention water bowls coming out unprompted. Weekday mornings are the calm window; on weekends pick a table clear of the footpath flow.

The food

The kitchen covers breakfast through lunch with modern Australian and Mediterranean-leaning plates. Eggs benedict and the breakfast burger carry the morning menu, alongside avo smash and eggs your way, and a good spread of vegetarian and vegan options. Through lunch the lamb cutlets and the works burger are the substantial picks, with fresh smoothies and milkshakes that make it an easy stop with kids in tow. Coffee is a constant across the reviews.

The parade walkway runs straight past the door and the jetty itself is a short scenic stroll on the lead. For off-leash time around the meal, the Redcliffe Dog Beach at Queens Beach North in Scarborough is the peninsula's off-leash sand, and the Redcliffe dog park in Clontarf gives a fenced run a few minutes north. In the same suburb, Over There Cafe is another dog-friendly table on the Redcliffe strip.
