Over There Cafe

Over There Cafe is a family-run breakfast and lunch spot inside Dolphins Central at 110 Ashmole Road, Redcliffe, deliberately away from the waterfront crowds along the Esplanade. The alfresco tables take dogs, the off-street parking is easy, and the kitchen turns out proper cafe food rather than centre-court snacks.

The dog setup

Dogs on lead are welcome at the outdoor alfresco seating beside your table. Staff are genuinely pet-friendly and usually bring a water bowl out unprompted, though carrying your own as backup is wise on weekend mornings when the alfresco fills. The cafe sits within a shopping centre precinct, so keep the lead on through the car park and common areas.

Worth knowing

The kitchen runs a full Modern Australian breakfast and lunch menu with regular chef specials: eggs Benedict, fritters, wraps, and the old-school lamb's fry that regulars order by name. Coffee is Veneziano, and the cabinet carries homemade scones plus a solid slice and cake selection. It trades seven days, 6am to 2pm Monday to Saturday and 7am to 1pm Sunday, so early dog-walk breakfasts are well catered.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at Dolphins Central, 110 Ashmole Road, Redcliffe, on the peninsula's inland side near the Anzac Avenue corridor. The centre has off-street parking, which beats hunting for a bay near the water on summer weekends.

Make a day of it

Queens Beach North at Scarborough is the peninsula's designated off-leash beach, where dogs can run on sand and swim under City of Moreton Bay rules, staying on lead on the grassed areas and footpaths.
