Graeme Higham Park is a quiet residential park on Ashmole Road in Newport, with water views over the canals and enough mature shade trees to make it a pleasant spot for a low-key walk with your dog.

Nearby with the dogs. Anchorage Bakery Cafe on Griffith Road is a short drive away and takes dogs outdoors. Newport Park Fenced Dog Park is nearby too if your dog needs an off-leash run.

When to go. Weekday early mornings and late afternoons are the quietest times. The shoreline here is tidal, so a high tide gives the better view if you're after photos. Good for an easy leash walk rather than a big off-leash outing.
