Oysterbedz

Oysterbedz is a waterfront seafood and oyster bar at 2 The Palladio on the Mandurah Ocean Marina, trading every day from 11am. The paved outdoor tables face the marina and this is where dogs go; the indoor restaurant stays people-only. Between the view, the oyster list and the regular live music, it works as a full afternoon stop rather than a quick lunch.

The dog setup

Dogs join you on the paved terrace overlooking the marina, on a lead and settled close to your table. Staff are known to look after canine guests; water bowls come out on request and the venue has a reputation for treating visiting dogs. Mention your dog when booking so staff can point you to a table with a bit of extra room, and bring a bowl of your own to be safe on busy days.

The vibe

Fresh local oysters done several ways anchor the menu, from natural and mignonette to Kilpatrick, with seafood platters, battered barramundi and a serious cocktail and wine list behind them. Live music runs through the week and Sunday afternoons are the social peak; lively but loud, so a weekday table is the calmer option for a dog that startles easily.

Getting there and parking

There is ample free parking in the public lots around the marina, and the boardwalk gives an easy flat walk-up from the car parks. Hours run 11am to 9pm Monday to Thursday and Sunday, with a later 10pm close Friday and Saturday.

Make a day of it

The marina boardwalks give plenty of leashed walking either side of the meal, Halls Head Dog Beach is a short drive north for a proper swim, and Mandurah Fenced Dog Park covers an off-lead run. Murphy's Irish Pub in town is another dog-friendly fallback.
