D'lights Cafe

D'lights Cafe is a family-run cafe at Dolphin Quay on the Mandurah Ocean Marina, and its alfresco tables sit right on the boardwalk with the marina at your elbow. Dogs are welcome in that outdoor seating, which makes it a relaxed breakfast or lunch stop built into a boardwalk walk rather than a detour. It does home-style breakfast and lunch with gluten-free, vegetarian and dairy-free options, and it is licensed with BYO wine.

The dog setup

Dogs go in the alfresco area only; the indoor dining room stays people-only. The tables run beside the marina walkway, so a leashed dog settles easily at your side, though pick a table on the walkway edge so your dog has room clear of passing prams and other dogs. Staff are accommodating but water provision varies, so carry your own travel bowl on warmer days.

The vibe

This is casual, family-run territory: egg benedict and a famous giant scone, a pulled pork roll, gluten-free cakes in the cabinet and marina views across the board. Reviews are mixed on service speed, but the setting does a lot of the work, and the seniors discount keeps a loyal local crowd coming. Breakfast hours start from 7:30am on weekends and 8am midweek, with the kitchen wrapping up mid-afternoon.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at 7/8 Zephyr Mews in Dolphin Quay. The large Dolphin Quay car park is free and has flat access to the boardwalk, so no stairs or long walks with the dog. Dogs on leash are welcome throughout Dolphin Quay itself, and the marina boardwalk continues past the cafe toward the foreshore and the bridge.

Make a day of it
