Murphy's Irish Pub

Murphy's Irish Pub sits right on the Mandurah Terrace boardwalk, and dogs are welcome in the covered alfresco area facing the water. A waterfront table with the dog settled under it, plus dog beers at the bar, is the whole reason to bring them along rather than leave them at home.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the boardwalk alfresco dining area, not inside, and they stay leashed and settled at your table. The space is covered with ceiling fans, so there is shade on a hot afternoon. If you want to spoil them, the bar even sells Bad to the Bone dog beers.

The vibe

It is a traditional Irish pub doing the expected things well: Guinness pie, lamb shanks, barramundi and prawns and famously big serving sizes, with a Sunday roast in the mix. Live music on weekends can make the alfresco lively, so a nervous dog will prefer a quieter weekday visit.

Pepsi: grab a boardwalk-edge table looking at the boats, order the dog a beer, and watch the world go by.

Getting there and parking

The pub is at 45 Mandurah Terrace, with free parking to the side and rear, and the whole venue is wheelchair accessible so a level walk-up with the dog is easy. Doors open from 11am daily, with later close on Friday and Saturday nights.

While you're out there

The Eastern Foreshore runs right alongside, with grassed areas and a long waterside path for an on-lead walk before or after your meal, and the seasonal Mandjar Markets set up on the foreshore nearby. If you are making a weekend of it, Mandurah Caravan and Tourist Park takes dogs, and Perched is another dog-friendly coffee stop in town.
