Flics Kitchen

Flics Kitchen is a small modern-Australian restaurant on Mandurah Terrace at 16 Mandurah Terrace, looking over the estuary on the waterfront strip. It has built a reputation on creative small plates and a serious drinks list, and dogs are welcome at the footpath tables out front, which makes it an easy sit-down lunch stop with the dog on a foreshore walk.

The dog setup

Dogs join you in the outdoor footpath seating along the terrace; the indoor dining room stays dog-free. The tables sit on the pavement with estuary views, so a leashed dog settles beside you with room to see what is going on. Staff are used to dogs and happy to bring out water, but carrying your own bowl is still the safe play on a warm day.

Pepsi: this is a more refined room than most of the strip, so it suits a settled dog rather than an excited one. Book and ask for an outer table.

Worth knowing

The kitchen is known for share plates like twice-cooked potatoes, crab croquettes, scallops and chicken and waffles, with a deep cocktail and wine list behind them. It trades slightly more upmarket than the casual spots nearby. Hours run 11:30am to 3pm Tuesday to Saturday, and it is closed Sunday and Monday, so this is a lunch plan rather than dinner.

Getting there and parking

Free street parking runs along Mandurah Terrace and the surrounding streets, with paid parking nearby, and the venue is wheelchair accessible. The Eastern Foreshore walkway is about 200 metres away for an on-leash waterside stroll before or after the meal.

Close by with the dogs

Hall Park at Halls Head and the Silver Sands coastal strip are designated off-leash exercise areas within a short drive, and Mandurah Fenced Dog Park is the fully fenced option nearby. For another drink or meal on the same side of town, Murphy's Irish Pub and Turquoise Mandurah are both dog-friendly stops on the terrace.
