Le Jardin Cafe Restaurant

Le Jardin is the French-inspired cafe on the corner of Tedder and Cronin Avenues in Main Beach, doing crepes, croissants and well-regarded coffee from 6am daily. The outdoor garden tables under the big Poinciana tree and grapevines are where dogs are welcome, and they make it one of the more comfortable dog stops on the Gold Coast on a hot morning.

Dogs are welcomed at the al fresco and garden seating, shaded by the canopy rather than baking on an open footpath. Water bowls are typically provided for visiting pups, though carrying a backup is never a bad idea. Keep the lead on and your dog close to the table; Tedder Avenue carries steady foot traffic through the morning, and the indoor dining rooms stay humans-only.

The vibe

It is a calmer room than much of the strip, with French music and an unhurried feel. The kitchen covers sweet and savoury crepes, french toast, eggs benedict, chicken waffles and croissants, with smoothies and proper coffee alongside. Doors open 6am to 5pm every day of the week, so it works for sunrise regulars and long brunches alike.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits on Tedder Avenue in the Main Beach strip. Street parking on Tedder and the surrounding side streets is the main option and tightens up on weekends. Coming without a car, the G:link tram station at Main Beach is an easy walk away.

Pair it with

Main Beach Parklands are a short walk for a lead-on stretch along the water, or make a proper morning of it on The Spit via Federation Trail before breakfast. On the same strip, The Winey Cow runs a dedicated dog menu and Hot Shott keeps outdoor tables on the avenue for dogs.
