The lead. Scenic Park Fenced Dog Park sits on Scenic Avenue in Benowa, a fully fenced off-leash area beside the Benowa waterway. The appeal is the fencing plus a waterfront setting: room to run safely, shade under mature trees, and some agility gear to keep active dogs busy.

The rules. The main dog-exercise area is fenced for free off-leash play. Outside that fenced zone, dogs must be on-leash. The adjacent children's playground is off-limits to dogs. Keep your dog under control and remove any aggressive dog immediately. Bag stations and bins are provided; clean up after your dog.

Entry is through single gates, so latch behind you and watch for escape artists. The water's edge can be steep in places, so mind dogs that launch straight in.

What's there. A few agility obstacles, dog water fountains and bowls, and shaded seating for owners. A fenced, sand-based children's playground with slides and swings sits adjacent. Note there are no public toilets on site.

Getting there. On Scenic Avenue, reached via Ashmore Road or Benowa Road. Free street parking is available along Scenic Avenue but it is limited. Direct public transport is sparse; nearest bus stops are on surrounding streets with a short walk in.

Nearby with the dogs. Double Barrel Kitchen and Bar at The Concourse, roughly a few minutes' drive, welcomes dogs in its lakeside outdoor area. Cafes around the Benowa Village shops offer further outdoor seating.

When to go. Busiest on weekends and at the weekday bookends, roughly 6-8am and 4-6pm. Midday on weekdays is quieter. The ground can get muddy after heavy rain, so pick a dry stretch if you want to keep paws clean. Good for owners who want a fenced run with reliable boundaries.
