The Winey Cow is a brunch cafe on Woodroffe Avenue just off Tedder Avenue in Main Beach, and it goes further than most with dogs: a proper doggy menu of air-dried chicken breast, kangaroo ribs and bully sticks alongside the boozy brunch crowd favourites.

The setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating area, which is sheltered and comfortable rather than a bare footpath strip. Keep your dog leashed at the table. Water is available on request and the doggy menu means you can actually order your dog something rather than just a bowl.

Getting there. There is a free on-site parking lot as well as free street parking nearby, though both fill up on weekends. It is an easy walk from most of Main Beach.

Nearby with the dogs. Tedder Avenue's cafe strip is a two-minute walk, Main Beach Parklands offers a green stretch for a post-brunch stroll, and the patrolled Main Beach foreshore is close enough for a look at the water afterwards.

When to go. Weekday mornings are calmer for parking and table space; weekends get busy early, so arrive before 9am if you want the outdoor tables to yourself. Confirm the doggy menu is running on the day, as specials can change.
