Mooloolah Valley Country Club

Mooloolah Valley Country Club is a community club in Glenview, in the hinterland stretch between Landsborough and Beerwah, built around a lawn bowls green with a pub-style kitchen, local beers on tap and, unusually for a country club, no poker machines. Dogs on lead are welcome in the outdoor alfresco and lawn areas that border the green, which makes Sunday sessions with free barefoot bowls and live music from 1pm an easy family outing with the dog in tow.

The dog setup

The club's outdoor pergola and lawn precincts are the pet-friendly zones; dogs stay on lead and out of the indoor dining room. The open lawn space around the green gives a settled dog some room, but keep the lead on since bowlers and kids cross the same ground. Bring water in summer; there is no published dog menu or water-bowl notice.

The menu and the week

The kitchen runs Modern Australian pub staples with rotating weekly specials: a Sunday roast, wings for a dollar each on Wednesday, pizza day on Thursday, and pork belly bites that guests keep ordering. Kids eat free from 5pm on Sundays with any main. Hours are Monday and Tuesday from 4pm, then Wednesday to Sunday from 11am with the kitchen running into the evening.

Getting there and parking

The club sits in Glenview on the old Bruce Highway corridor, a few minutes from Landsborough and about 20 minutes from Caloundra, with parking on site. It pairs naturally with a dam walk: the Ewen Maddock Dam main track is a short drive south, and Pioneer Park in Landsborough and Mill Park at Beerwah are the nearest fenced off-lead options. Landsborough Pub is the other dog-friendly country pub in the immediate area.
