Flintwood Crescent Park Fenced Dog Park

Flintwood Crescent Park, sometimes called Harmony Dog Park, is a fully fenced off-leash area in the Harmony estate at Palmview, with an open grassed field for running and fetch plus a dog agility zone. The estate is new, so shade trees are still developing rather than mature.

The rules: Keep dogs leashed until inside the fenced off-leash area, then off-leash play is fine. A double-gated entry keeps things secure while you unclip. Dogs must stay at least 5 metres from the neighbouring playground and family area at all times. Owners need voice control over their dogs, and any dog showing aggression must be removed immediately. Clean up after your dog; waste bags are generally available on-site but it pays to carry your own as backup.

What's there: Secure double-gated fencing, a dog drinking fountain, seating for owners, and agility obstacles for dogs that like a challenge. Free street parking is available right next to the park on Flintwood Crescent.

Getting there: From the Bruce Highway (M1), take the Palmview/Glenview exit and follow signs into the Harmony estate along Peter Crosby Way, then on to Flintwood Crescent. Public transport does not run directly to the park, so it is best reached by car or as part of a walk within the estate.

Nearby with the dogs: Cafe Harmony, on Twilight Avenue within the same estate, has a dog-friendly outdoor deck for a coffee afterwards. Further cafes and pet-friendly stays are a short drive away around Sippy Downs and Glenview.

Watch-outs: Because the shade trees are still young, the park offers little natural shelter, so visit during the cooler parts of the day in summer to avoid heat stress. Weekday evenings and Saturday mornings tend to be busiest; weekday mornings, Sundays, and Saturday afternoons are quieter.

Good for a proper run rather than a shaded lounge in summer; bring water and time your visit around the heat of the day.
