Sippy Social

Sippy Social is a community cafe at 38 Central Drive, Sippy Downs, a short hop from the Village Green and the university side of the suburb. It is a brunch-and-coffee spot at heart, with an easygoing outdoor area where dogs are welcome, and it runs early enough to anchor a proper morning: 6am on weekdays, 6:30am Saturdays, closed Sundays.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcomed in the outdoor seating areas, which is where you and your dog should plan to be. Water bowls are available outside, so you can leave the travel bowl in the car, and staff have been known to have dog treats going, though that varies day to day, so ask when you arrive. Indoor seating is not part of the deal for pets, so if the weather turns, treat it as a takeaway stop or come back another day.

Worth knowing

The kitchen leans into proper breakfast plates: eggs benedict and breakfast wraps get named most often, the protein smoothies and fresh juices cover the health crowd, and there is a regular rotation of baked goods by the register. There is no fixed dog menu, but the water bowls and the staff attitude carry it. Weekday mornings are the calmest time for a dog at your feet; Saturdays build quickly towards midday.

Getting there and parking

Central Drive runs through the Sippy Downs town centre, and street parking along the strip and the adjacent carparks covers most visits. It is an easy walk from the surrounding residential streets and the campus side of the suburb.

Close by with the dogs

For an off-lead run beforehand, Flintwood Crescent Park Fenced Dog Park in Palmview and Elizabeth Daniels Park Fenced Dog Park in Buderim are both a short drive away, and Buddina's dog beach covers the salt-water option towards the coast.
