Mill Park Fenced Dog Park

Mill Park is a fully fenced off leash dog park on Simpson Street in central Beerwah, with agility equipment, natural shade and an open grassy run. It sits right beside the village, so it doubles as an easy stop when you are already in town, and Sunshine Coast Council lists it in its parks directory.

The rules

Off leash applies inside the fenced enclosure at all hours, but you need to stay in the park and supervise at all times. Use the double gates one at a time, keep your dog leashed until you are through both, and check the gate latches behind you so nothing bolts.

Carry waste bags and pick up straight away, and if your dog gets snappy or over aroused, leash it and step out. Bag dispensers and bins are provided on site.

What's there

Full perimeter fencing with a double gated entry, a set of agility obstacles for training, covered picnic tables and sheltered seating for owners, plus a water tap with bowls. Public toilets and bins are close by, which is more than most hinterland dog parks offer.

Shade comes from scattered trees rather than a covered run, so the middle of the day in summer still means hot grass.

Getting there

The park is on Simpson Street with easy street parking out front, roughly an hour north of Brisbane and half an hour from the coast. Beerwah railway station on the Sunshine Coast line is a ten to fifteen minute walk, so you can arrive without a car.

Close by with the dogs

The Local Beerwah Cafe & Bar in the village seats dogs in its alfresco area, and the Beerwah Hotel welcomes dogs in the open, non roofed part of its beer garden, both an easy walk away. If you want more fenced off lead time, the Pioneer Park fenced dog park in Landsborough is the next one up the line, and the Ewen Maddock Dam main track adds an on leash bush option.

When to go

Weekday mid mornings and early afternoons are the quietest windows. The park fills on weekend mornings and weekday evenings after work, which is great for a social dog and worth avoiding if yours prefers space.
