Glasshouse Plantation (Coffee plantation)

Glasshouse Plantation is a working coffee farm and cafe on the road through the Glass House Mountains, with outdoor deck seating looking straight at Mt Tibrogargan. Well-behaved dogs on lead are welcome in the outdoor areas, and the deck-with-a-view combo makes it worth the detour off the highway.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on the outdoor deck and in the farm shop area, on leash at all times. Staff put out fresh water and there is grass behind the deck for a toileting break. There is no dedicated pet menu, so bring a snack if you are staying a while. The farm has uneven ground in places, which suits dogs comfortable on natural surfaces.

Worth knowing

The coffee is grown on site, and the cabinet runs to scones and savoury muffins, with short farm tours and coffee tastings running through the day (bookings advised, capped at around eight people). It is as much a scenic stop as a coffee run. Hours run roughly 8am to 3pm, Thursday to Monday, closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Getting there and parking

The plantation sits on the main road with its own signposted car park, including room for larger vehicles and caravans, which matters on this tourist stretch.

Pepsi: water bowls are out but there is no dog food here, so pack a snack if the view is going to hold you past one coffee.

Make a day of it

Glass House Mountains National Park and Beerburrum State Forest both have on-leash trails a short drive away, and the lookout is a quick add-on for photos. Staying in the area, the Glass House Mountains Caravan and Camping Park and the Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge both take dogs.
