What visitors mention
Maddock Park sits on the northern shore of Ewen Maddock Dam in Mooloolah Valley, a Seqwater-managed on-leash dog area with forest trails, picnic ground and views across the water to the Glass House Mountains. It is a genuine, signposted dog area rather than an informal tolerance.
The rules: Dogs must stay on leash at all times, in the park and on the connecting trails. A maximum of two dogs per person is allowed. Dogs are not permitted in the lake, on the designated swimming beach, on the foreshore, or on the boat ramps, since this is a drinking water supply dam. Bring your own bags and use the bins provided.
What's there: A large unsealed car park sits at the entrance, with sheltered picnic tables, a BBQ area and public toilets nearby. The Main Track runs about 8.5 kilometres through gum forest, pine plantation and paperbark wetland, with a boardwalk section.
Getting there: From Landsborough, follow Mooloolah Connection Road; the entrance is well signposted. Public transport is limited, the nearest train station is Landsborough, roughly a 5 to 10 minute drive away. The car park can fill on weekends, so get there early if you want a spot.
Watch-outs: The lower, forested sections of trail can get muddy after rain. Because this is a water catchment area, swimming and foreshore access are off limits for dogs even though there is a human swimming spot nearby.

Nearby with the dogs: Ewen Maddock Dam Main Track (Gympie Street North Entrance) is a connecting trailhead nearby, and Jones Street Kitchen is a short drive away for a coffee afterwards. Landsborough Holiday Park is the nearest pet-friendly stay if you want to make a weekend of it.
Early weekday mornings are the quietest and best for wildlife. Good for hikers wanting a genuine bush walk on leash, not for dogs that need a swim.
