BULLET CLUB

Bullet Club is the grunge dive-bar-meets-Japanese-izakaya at 1/4 Moseley Street, Glenelg, all 90s decor, arcade machines and fusion plates a few minutes from the beach. It leans loud and moody inside, but the footpath tables on Moseley Street take dogs, which makes it a workable stop for a socialised dog on a Jetty Road crawl.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables on the Moseley Street footpath, on a lead, and not inside the bar. The corner is high-traffic with tram, beach and street noise, so this is a confident-dog table rather than a nervous-dog one. Ask the bar staff for a water bowl on arrival and bring your own as backup; bowls are not guaranteed on the footpath.

The vibe and the food

The kitchen runs an izakaya-style Japanese-American fusion menu: furikake fries with miso mayo, karaage, Bullet ramen with house broth and marinated egg, seasonal udon and katsu sandos, with Guinness on tap alongside cocktails and house sodas. The room commits hard to the 90s theme, so expect atmosphere over quiet. Doors run Tuesday to Thursday from 4pm to midnight, Friday 4pm to 1am and Saturday and Sunday from midday to 1am, closed Mondays; aim earlier in the evening before it fills.

Getting there and parking

It sits at the Jetty Road end of Moseley Street, a short step from Moseley Square where the Glenelg tram terminates, so arriving by tram is the low-effort option. If you drive, the usual Glenelg mix of side-street bays and beachfront parking applies and gets tight at peak times.

Close by with the dogs

The beach is a few minutes on foot. City of Holdfast Bay rules let dogs off-lead on the sand before 10am and after 8pm during daylight savings and all day outside daylight savings, and Glenelg North Dog-Friendly Beach is the mapped option a short drive or long walk up the coast. On-lead, the Patawalonga riverfront paths and Wigley Reserve are minutes away. For more footpath-dog tables along the strip, Daily Fixx Cafe and Feed Jetty Road both take dogs outside.
