Smoked on Depot

Smoked on Depot is an American-style low-and-slow BBQ smokehouse at 21 Depot Road in Dubbo, and it makes a point of welcoming dogs: the venue states outright that dogs are part of the family and welcome to join you in the outdoor area while you work through the brisket. The pit runs on smoked beef brisket, pulled pork, wings and loaded fries, cooked low and slow and served until sold out.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables on-lead, not inside, and staff are genuinely happy to have them. Bring your own water bowl, and mention you have a dog when booking so the team can set you up at a suitable outdoor table. Worth knowing

Hours are limited: a Thursday dinner service from 5pm, with Friday and Saturday services around lunch and into the evening, and the kitchen closes when the meat is gone. Check the venue site before you plan a visit, since the trading pattern has shifted before. The menu leans proper American BBQ rather than a full bistro list, so it suits a long lunch or an early dinner more than a quick coffee stop.

The address is 21 Depot Road, Dubbo, a short drive from the city centre. On-street parking runs along Depot Road and the nearby side streets, so pulling up with the dog is straightforward.
