Loco Lane Mexican Cantina & Cocktail Bar Culburra Beach

Loco Lane is a casual Mexican cantina and cocktail bar on the main strip at Culburra Beach, set up in the old dental surgeon building on Prince Edward Avenue. It runs as a late-afternoon and evening venue, so think dinner after the beach rather than a daytime stop, and the grassed, covered outdoor dining is where dogs fit in.

The kitchen does al pastor pork, beer-battered fish, slow-cooked beef and quesadillas, with a margarita and cocktail list doing the heavy lifting on drinks. There is an outdoor firepit and live music turns up regularly, so this is a lively evening rather than a quiet one, which suits a mellow dog and rules out a nervous one. Getting there

The venue sits on Prince Edward Avenue in the middle of the town centre. Street parking runs along the avenue and the surrounding streets, and it is an easy walk from the holiday houses and rentals around town, so you can leave the car and wander with the dog.

Close by with the dogs

For the morning half of the day, Fishwicks covers coffee and breakfast in the same suburb. If you are up for a drive, the Nowra fenced dog park is the nearest proper fenced run, and the Huskisson to Vincentia shared path makes a good coastal leg-stretch on the way in from Jervis Bay.
