Benny's is a casual, family-run cafe at Shop 3/173 Prince Edward Avenue on the main strip at Culburra Beach, and it earns its spot with dogs for one simple reason: the covered balcony deck. That is where dogs sit, so you get weather cover and a table just off the footpath rather than a kerbside perch.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome on the outdoor balcony and decking, not inside. The deck is covered, which makes it a reliable option in light rain or strong sun, a real advantage in a beach town. Water bowl availability varies, so bring your own travel bowl, and book ahead on weekends and through the summer holidays because the deck is the most popular seating in the place. Staff are used to local pups and easygoing about them.

Benny's is known for large portions and a solid brunch menu, bacon and egg rolls, eggs Benedict with hollandaise, french toast and milkshakes, poured with locally roasted Daily Grind coffee. Doors open 8am to 3pm daily, with the kitchen and takeaway winding up around 2pm, so do not leave brunch too late. Staff accommodate gluten-free and dairy-free requests if you ask.

Getting there and parking

Prince Edward Avenue is the main strip through Culburra Beach, with free street parking directly out front. The cafe is central to the small town, so once parked, everything including the beach is an easy walk.

Close by with the dogs

Check Shoalhaven Council signage for the current on-leash and off-leash zones and times before letting the lead off at the beach. Fishwicks on The Lake Circuit is another dog-friendly cafe with water bowls and taps, and Greenwell Point Fenced Dog Park is a short drive north for off-lead time.
