Royal Orchard Thai is a small, well-regarded Thai restaurant at 5/1 Ocean Grove Avenue, close to the beach and Cronulla Mall. It is an evening dinner spot, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating directly out front.

The dog setup. Dogs are allowed at the outdoor tables outside the restaurant. The area is set up with heaters and roller blinds, which keeps it comfortable on cooler nights. Indoor seating is not for dogs.

Good to know. Authentic Thai stir-fries, curries, noodles and soups, with the salt and pepper calamari a signature. Service is friendly and attentive. It gets busy, so a booking is wise.

Getting there. Free street parking is in the surrounding area but can be busy. It is easy walking distance from Cronulla Station and the main shopping precinct.

Nearby with the dogs. The Cronulla beach esplanade is a short walk for a pre-dinner stroll, and Cronulla Park is close by for a patch of grass.

Book ahead and flag the dog. A walk along the esplanade beforehand sets the dog up to settle through dinner.
