Bianco is a modern Italian restaurant on the corner of Bulcock Street and Tay Avenue, in the heart of Caloundra. Dogs are welcome at the street-level alfresco tables, so you can settle in for a long lunch or dinner of pasta and pizza with the dog alongside.

The dog setup. Dogs join you at the outdoor, alfresco seating on the paved patio at street level (Tay Avenue side), not in the indoor dining room. There is room beside the tables for a dog to settle, and a lead is the sensible call given the busy corner. Staff are accommodating, but bring your own water bowl.

Good to know. The kitchen does traditional Italian with a Mediterranean lean, pasta, pizza and a proper bar, with gluten-free, coeliac-safe and vegetarian options. It is more of a sit-down dinner room than a quick-coffee stop, so it suits a planned meal rather than a mid-walk pause. Booking an outdoor table is worth it to lock in space for the dog.

Getting there. The address is 5 Tay Avenue, Caloundra. Street parking runs along Tay Avenue and the surrounding Bulcock Street area, with public car parks within a short walk in the town centre. Entry is step-free.

Nearby with the dogs. Bulcock Beach is a short walk away for a foreshore stroll on lead, and the Caloundra coastal path is close by. Bunker Espresso, also dog-friendly, sits underneath the same building if you want a coffee after.

When to go. Book ahead for an alfresco table, especially on weekend evenings when the corner is at its busiest. A weekday lunch is the calmest window with a dog.
