Times Berwick

Times Berwick is a multi-award winning steakhouse on Bemersyde Drive, a short hop from Berwick's High Street, serving Black Angus steak, handmade pasta and seafood alongside nasi goreng and a serious dessert list under head chef Ramesh Sapkota. Dogs join you on the outdoor balcony, which makes this one of the few spots in Berwick where a proper sit-down dinner with the dog on the table list is realistic rather than a quick counter pickup.

The dog setup is the partially sheltered balcony, which runs with heaters so it stays usable through a Berwick winter, while the indoor dining room stays dog-free. Table service and a calmer, set-back setting from the main strip suit a settled dog better than a restless one, and the balcony rail gives a little buffer from passing foot traffic. Book ahead and ask specifically for an outdoor table, because the balcony seats fill on weekend evenings. Reported by visitors: water bowls are not always pre-set, so bring a travel bowl to be safe.

Max: we booked the balcony for a birthday dinner and the staff treated the dog like a second reservation. The sticky date pudding settled the argument about whose night it was.

Expect premium cuts and locally sourced seafood, with the seafood linguine, pork belly, beef cheek and arancini drawing the regular praise, plus a deep wine list and cocktails. There is a lunch service on weekdays and dinner runs late on Friday and Saturday.
