Baba Fattoush Café & Restaurant

Baba Fattoush Cafe & Restaurant is Albany's first locally owned Middle Eastern cafe, on Middleton Road, serving breakfast and lunch weekdays from 8am to 3:30pm. The kitchen works through chicken shawarma, falafel sandwiches, fresh pita, chicken biryani and baklava, and it has built a reputation as one of the town's budget-friendly, genuinely warm local stops.

The dog setup

Dogs are allowed outside, leashed and settled beside you at the exterior seating areas, with the indoor dining space kept for service. Staff are reported to keep water bowls out and even dog biscuits at the counter, though bring your own bowl as a backup. Weekday mornings are the quiet window; the lunch rush is when the outdoor area fills.

Worth knowing

The Middleton Road location puts you minutes from the dog-friendly stretch of Middleton Beach, where the northern end toward Emu Point is a designated off-leash exercise zone, so a morning beach run pairs neatly with a late breakfast. Remember the national parks nearby, including Torndirrup, are no-dog zones, so keep coastal plans to the town beaches and reserves.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at 356-358 Middleton Road, Albany WA 6330, about a five-minute drive from the York Street CBD and walkable from the Middleton Beach side. Street parking runs along Middleton Road and can fill at lunch.
