The Surfing Bean

The Surfing Bean is a coffee trailer parked right on Surfers Beach at the northern end of Middleton Beach, footsteps from the off-leash dog beach. It is a genuine local hangout for dog owners doing a beach lap before or after a swim.

The setup. There is no courtyard or indoor seating, this is a trailer with a queue on the sand and footpath. Keep your dog on a lead while you order, since the queue can get busy on weekend mornings. Regulars bring their own water bowl for the beach, though the vibe here is dog-friendly enough that a bowl by the trailer is common.

Known for. Quick, quality coffee right on the sand and a loyal following of local dog owners, especially early mornings and through summer.

Getting there. Park at the Surfers Beach car park on Golf Links Road, then it is a short walk onto the sand to the trailer.

When to go. Wednesday to Friday mornings only (7am to noon), so check the days before you drive out. Good for a pre-swim coffee run with dogs already off-leash on the sand nearby.
