The Raven Hotel

The Raven Hotel is a neighbourhood pub on Montague Road in West End, a few minutes from the Brisbane River, and dogs are welcome in the undercover patio out the back. Between the pub food, the cocktails and a live music and comedy calendar, it works as well for an afternoon session after a walk as it does for a night out.

The dog setup

Dogs on a lead are welcome in the open and covered outdoor patio areas. Inside is people only, so this is an outdoor-table venue whatever the weather, though the covered part of the patio gives you shelter when it turns.

The pub runs the occasional dog event, and staff are used to dogs at tables. Bring your own bowl if you want to be certain of water on a busy night.

The vibe

It is a casual, local-leaning pub rather than a destination venue, with a speakeasy-style cellar tucked inside and a beer and cocktail list that does the heavy lifting. The kitchen covers pub classics, and there is live music and comedy through the week. Hours run from 10am daily, closing at 10pm and later on Friday and Saturday.

Getting there

The Raven sits at 400 Montague Road on the corner of Raven Street. There is on-site parking and street parking around West End, both of which tighten up on weekend nights. Montague Road carries the bike route along the river, so it pairs naturally with a riverside loop.

Make a day of it

Orleigh Dog Park sits on the river at the bottom of Montague Road and is an easy off-leash run before you claim a patio table. If you are making a longer afternoon of it, The Burrow on Russell Street is another dog-tolerant outdoor option in the same patch of West End.
