The Woombye Pub

Indoors, including the main bar, dining rooms and gaming lounge, is for humans only aside from recognised assistance dogs. Book a veranda table ahead on weekends, because the outdoor section fills fast around live music sessions and lunch rushes.

The kitchen runs classic country pub food: steak sandwiches, chicken schnitzel and seafood chowder, with a kids' play area and regular live bands drawing a family crowd. It is lively rather than quiet, so it suits well-socialised dogs; if yours is nervous around noise, take a veranda table near the edge away from the bar side on music nights.

The pub sits in the middle of Woombye on Blackall Street, a short walk from Woombye train station, with street parking nearby. It opens from 10am daily, and weekdays or early evenings are the quietest windows if you want space on the veranda.

Burn off the schnitzel with an on-leash wander around Woombye's streets or a coffee at Kimnat Cafe up the road. For an off-leash session, Petrie Park dog off-leash area at Nambour is a few minutes away, and Sunshine Coast Motor Lodge in town takes dogs if you are staying over.
