Moon Dog Wild West is the Western-themed brewery and bar arm of Moon Dog Craft Brewery in Footscray, a big, lively space with a mechanical bull, pool tables and a saloon setup indoors. For dogs, the drawcard is the rooftop.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome on the rooftop beer garden, on lead at all times. The indoor saloon, where the dining and the mechanical bull are, is not a dog area. Nearby with the dogs. The Maribyrnong River trail is a few minutes away for a walk before or after a drink, and Footscray Park's open lawns are a short walk or drive off, good for letting a dog stretch out before the rooftop.

Weeknights or an early rooftop sitting are the easiest way to get a table with a dog in tow; weekends get busy fast once the bull and the bar fill up. Confirm the rooftop's dog policy hasn't changed before you commit to the trip, especially in bad weather.
