Francis St Fully Fenced Dog Park

Francis St Fully Fenced Dog Park is the fenced off-leash area in the north-west corner of McIvor Reserve, entered off Francis Street in Yarraville. It's the same roughly 9,100 square metre L-shaped fenced ground covered elsewhere as McIvor Reserve's dog park, grassed with some shade and a rocky hill, so if you've already got Wattle Road directions for this reserve, this is the Francis Street side of the same park.

The rules. Dogs can run off-leash inside the fence, and off-leash in the wider unfenced reserve too provided they're under effective voice control. Stay on-leash within 30 metres of the playground, and off-leash play is not allowed on the soccer, hockey or baseball fields while games or training are on. Bag stations are near each gated entrance, so there's no excuse to leave anything behind.

What's there. A water tap with bowl, the rocky hill for climbing and sniffing, and some basic agility gear, three hurdles of varying heights plus weave poles. Seating is available inside the fence, and the wider reserve adds a public toilet, BBQ and playground if you're staying a while.

Getting there. The entrance is on Francis Street, Yarraville VIC 3013, with parking available within McIvor Reserve itself. It's mainly a car or walk-in park for locals, buses run along nearby streets but this isn't a train-adjacent option.

Nearby with the dogs. Yarraville Village is about five minutes by car and has plenty of dog-friendly outdoor seating around Anderson Street, plus the Coles Yarraville area for a quick coffee run.

Sunday mornings and Tuesday to Thursday evenings are the busiest, weekday mornings and Friday mornings tend to be quieter if your dog prefers fewer distractions.
