SocialLife

SocialLife is a laneway bar and social hub tucked off Albert Street in Berry, run as an extension of the WorkLife social enterprise. It trades in cocktails, local wine and grazing boards, and the tree-lined outdoor lane is where the dogs settle in.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating, a relaxed, sun-catching laneway that suits a leashed dog lying under the table while the humans work through a cheese board. Water is worth asking for, and the lane's casual mood makes it an easy stop mid-walk around town.

The vibe

This is more social club than straightforward cafe: the menu leans to shared plates, local cheeses and seafood, with cocktails such as the signature Mr Bond alongside South Coast wines. Hours shift with events and pop-ups, including distillery takeovers, so check the SocialLife socials before locking in a visit.

Pepsi: a laneway with its own microclimate is elite dog territory. Everyone walking past in Berry stops to say hello and I act like this is my usual table, which it now is.

Getting there

The lane runs off Albert Street at 3/68b, one street back from Berry's main Queen Street strip, with street parking around the town centre. Berry is about 15 minutes north of Nowra off the Princes Highway.

Close by with the dogs

IV Coffee on Queen Street handles the daytime coffee run, and Albert Street Caffé and Bar is around the corner for a sit-down meal.
