Tea Tree Park 1

Tea Tree Park is where Yandina's dogs finally got a proper run. Sunshine Coast Council opened the fenced off-leash area here in late 2025, replacing the older informal setup with a purpose-built enclosure off Pioneer Road on the eastern side of town. It is a level grass paddock of roughly 2,000 square metres, tucked behind the Yandina Historic House, about the size of a football field and fully enclosed.

The dog setup

The enclosure is ringed by a 1.2 metre chain-wire fence with self-closing gates, so keep the lead on until you are both through the entry and inside. Off-leash applies within the fence; council still expects dogs to be under effective control and supervision the whole time, and you should carry a leash even inside. Bag dispensers and bins are provided for clean-up, and glass is banned in and around the park.

The vibe

The turf is open and level, which makes it good for a genuine run or a game of fetch rather than a sniff-only wander. There is a water tap with a dog bowl, a sheltered seat and concrete paths for prams and wheelie legs. Shade is the weak point, so on hot Sunshine Coast days bring extra water and time your visit for morning or late afternoon. One quirk: neighbouring properties with guard dogs can make noise next door, and some dogs find that distracting on the first visit.

Getting there and parking

There is no dedicated car park. Parking is on-street around the Pioneer Road entrance, which tightens on weekends, though walking in from the surrounding streets is easy. The park is close enough to the Yandina town centre that a coffee stop afterwards is a short stroll.

Round out the morning with a dog friendly coffee at At Odds Cafe or Kismet Tonic & Espresso in town, or point the car towards Coolum Beach's off-leash dog beach for a swim. If you feel like a proper walk, the Mount Ninderry walking track is a short drive away.
