Blackwood Drive Reserve is a quiet, L-shaped stretch of open grass on a former orchard site at 4 Blackwood Drive, Wonga Park, designated off-leash by Manningham Council. It is unfenced and there is not much here beyond space, which is exactly the appeal for dogs that like to sniff and range without dog park crowds.

The rules. Dogs go on lead entering and leaving the reserve, then off-lead under effective voice control inside. Standard Manningham buffers apply, meaning on lead within 15 metres of any play equipment or barbecue. Bring your own bags, as there are no dispensers on site.

What's there. A bench or two, patchy natural shade and open grass, and that is about it. No water tap for dogs and no fencing, so pack water and keep an eye on road-side boundaries. Street parking on Blackwood Drive is easy in this quiet residential pocket, and the grass gets muddy after rain.

When to go. It is rarely busy, with weekend mornings the closest thing to a rush. Best for dogs with reliable recall; if you need fences, Kimberley Drive Reserve in nearby Chirnside Park is the fully fenced option.
