Eden Park Dog Park

Eden Park is a suburban reserve at 34 Ryhill Crescent in the Eden Park estate in Wellard, and despite the dog park name it is a standard local public open space rather than a fenced or officially designated off-leash area. Think of it as a quiet on-lead neighbourhood walk, not a dedicated run.

The dog setup

City of Kwinana local laws require dogs to be on a lead on roads, footpaths and in public reserves unless a space is specifically signposted as an off-leash area, and Eden Park is not signposted as one. That means the lead stays on for the grassed oval and the concrete path around the perimeter. Dogs must also be leashed within five metres of any playground, wear a collar tag with the owner's details, and be cleaned up after immediately. There are no confirmed dog-specific amenities here, so bring your own water and bags.

Max: do not be fooled by the name. This is an on-lead neighbourhood reserve, and the off-leash zoomies belong somewhere with a fence and a sign.

Worth knowing

The reserve is not fully fenced, so keep dogs leashed near the roads and be aware that other dogs nearby may be off lead in adjacent areas. What it does offer is a flat, open grass area with a perimeter path that suits a gentle ball game on lead, a morning lap, or a calm outing for a puppy still learning the ropes.

Getting there

The reserve sits off Bertram Road inside the Eden Park estate, with street parking along Ryhill Crescent. Wellard train station is the nearest rail, though it is not a direct walk, so check bus connections if you are coming without a car.

Close by with the dogs

For a genuine fenced off-leash session, Peace Park in Parmelia is the closest confirmed option, with Rockingham Fenced Dog Park further along and Jan Hammond Park to the north. Bliss Momos is the local Wellard cafe stop.
