Reserve Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Reserve Street Reserve Fenced Dog Park in Trott Park is a large, fully fenced off-leash area open around the clock, and the first official fenced dog park run by the City of Marion. Its defining feature is the dual-zone design: two main exercise areas separated by a fenced biodiversity zone that keeps dogs out while the native vegetation recovers.

The dog setup

Inside the enclosure, dogs exercise off-leash at any hour under effective control. The central biodiversity zone is strictly off-limits, and in the broader reserve outside the fence dogs must be on-lead.

Secure double-gate airlock entries make arrivals and departures safe, and the park has grassed open space, shade, seating, natural logs for enrichment and bag dispensers with bins.

Worth knowing

A chilled drinking water station keeps dogs hydrated on warm days. The reserve also carries an upgraded playground, barbecues, picnic tables and a toilet block, so it works for families juggling kids and a dog at the same time.

Max: the airlock gates are worth using properly if your dog is prone to slipping a lead at entry points. Take your time in the transition zone, wait for the inner gate to clear, and let your dog settle before unclipping.

Getting there and parking

The park sits near the intersection of Panalatinga Road and Railway Road in Trott Park, with dedicated off-street parking next to the reserve. Bus stops on Guldane Avenue and Zwerner Drive serve the area, though Hallett Cove railway station is a drive away rather than a walk.

Close by with the dogs

For a post-park meal, Boatshed Hallett Cove offers outdoor seating and a dedicated dog menu a short drive south. If you want another fenced run, Woodcroft Fenced Dog Park and Minkarra Dog Park are both in the southern suburbs.

When to go

Weekdays are quieter, with mid-week afternoons and early mornings best for nervous dogs. Weekend mornings and afternoons, plus Monday evenings, draw a regular social crowd that suits big runners.
