It also connects to the local pedestrian and bike path running through to Cleveland, so it is an easy add-on to a longer walk. There is no direct bus route to the gate, but Cleveland's train station and local TransLink buses are a short trip away for anyone without a car.

Nearby with the dogs. Cleveland, about five to ten minutes' drive away, has a cluster of dog-friendly cafes with outdoor seating for a coffee afterwards, and the broader Redland City area has pet-friendly rentals, motels and caravan parks if you are staying over.

Weekday mid-mornings are the quiet window if your dog is reactive or you would rather avoid the crowd; weekends and the early morning or late afternoon commuter rush are when it fills up. There is no tidal factor since this is a landlocked park, but do bring water and use the shaded spots on hot days, since shade is limited.
