Point Talburpin Dog Park

Point Talburpin Dog Park is a fenced off-leash park right on the Redland Bay waterfront at Talburpin Esplanade, open around the clock. It is a smaller community park rather than a big regional run: gentle, well-drained slopes, bay views, a cooling breeze off the water and a calm local crowd. If you want a peaceful half hour of fetch and socialising with the sea in the background, this is the Redland Bay pick.

The dog setup

The enclosure is fully fenced with secure perimeter fencing and a double-gate airlock entry, so arrivals and departures are managed safely. Inside there is bench seating, a water tap and bowl for dogs, bins and poo bag dispensers. Redland City Council rules apply: stay inside with your dog, keep effective voice or hand control, bin the droppings, and leash and remove any dog showing aggression. Shade is patchy in spots, and visitors note mosquitoes can be active in the warmer months, so bring repellent for yourself and mind standing water.

Max: the fence backs onto the bay, and low tide opens up the mudflats below. Check the gate latches before you unclip, especially with a water-loving bolter.

The vibe

Regulars come for the peace and the outlook rather than high-energy chaos. It is quietest on Sunday mornings and weekday evenings, and busier on Sunday afternoons and Saturday evenings. Visit at high tide for the full water views; at low tide the bay retreats to mudflats, which is fine to look at but less fine for a dog that loves to wallow.

Getting there and parking

The park sits on Talburpin Esplanade in the Point Talburpin pocket of Redland Bay, with street parking nearby including an accessible bay. Local Redland Bay bus routes stop within a short walk, and the marina and esplanade strip are close enough to add a lead walk either side of the off-leash session.

Close by with the dogs

Main Street Park Fenced Dog Park is the other secure enclosure in Redland Bay if you want a second option, and The Park Social Redland Bay is a dog-friendly coffee stop known for roasting its own beans. Blip Espresso is another local cafe that takes dogs.
