Main Street Park Fenced Dog Park

The Main Street Park Fenced Dog Park sits on Main Street at the corner of Gordon Road in Redland Bay, inside the Moogurrapum Creek corridor. It is a compact, fully fenced off-leash park in Redland City Council's designated list, and its honest selling point is convenience: secure gates, water and shade in the middle of a growing suburb.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies inside the fence only. Use the double-gated entry properly, closing the first gate before opening the second, and keep your dog under effective control with a lead carried the whole time, as council rules require. Regulated dogs that have been declared dangerous or menacing are barred from off-leash areas, and children need close adult supervision inside the park.

On the practical side there is a water trough, seating, mature shade, a bin and a bag dispenser. Bring spare bags anyway, and note there are no toilets inside the dog park itself.

Worth knowing

The enclosure is a single open space rather than a split small-and-large-dog park, so small or timid dogs do better here at quiet times. The creek corridor setting brings mozzies in summer afternoons, and the ground can hold water after big rain. Weekends mid-morning get the local crowd; weekday middays are calm.

Getting there and parking

Redland Bay is about forty minutes from Brisbane CBD via the Gateway or Mount Cotton Road. Street parking runs along Main Street right by the park. The suburb is also the mainland terminal for the Southern Moreton Bay islands, so it is a natural stop if you are heading to or from a ferry with the dog.

Close by with the dogs

Round out the circuit with the Point Talburpin Dog Park down by the water, or stretch out on the Jack Gordon Pathway if you want an on-lead leg stretch. The Park Social Redland Bay is a dog-friendly cafe option nearby for the post-park coffee.
