Jack Gordon Pathway

The Jack Gordon Pathway is a flat, paved coastal walk along the Redland Bay foreshore near Sel Outridge Park, with open views across the bay. It is an easy, scenic stroll that suits most dogs and can be stretched out by wandering the adjoining parklands.

The walk. The path is sealed and level, comfortable for walking, prams and bikes, and short enough to be a relaxed outing rather than a workout. You can extend it by linking into the surrounding foreshore parks.

Leash status. Dogs are welcome but must stay on a lead for the whole pathway. Watch for signage around playgrounds and any conservation areas, which can be off-limits to dogs. Clean up after your dog; bags and bins are provided along the way.

What's there. Sealed paths, public toilets, covered picnic shelters and barbecues near the park, and easy water access for kayaks. Carry water for your dog, as fountains are not guaranteed along the route.

Getting there. There is a large car park at the Redland Bay foreshore, with the path easily reached near Sel Outridge Park on Banana Street. Buses run near Broadwater Terrace, within walking distance.

When to go. Early mornings and weekdays are quieter and make parking easier. Aim for lower to mid tide so the adjacent beach has room to walk and fewer muddy patches.
