Teds Place - Aventure and Training Park

Teds Place is a private, fully fenced two-acre dog park on Strachans Road in Springton, on the Eden Valley edge of the Barossa, booked by the hour rather than open to walk-ins. It is built for the dogs that ordinary off-leash parks fail: reactive, anxious or high-energy dogs that do better with the whole ground to themselves.

The dog setup

Every visit is a private booking through Sniffspace; there is no drop-in access and no sharing with unknown dogs. Sessions are capped at four dogs, with pricing around $35 an hour for up to two dogs from the same family.

Because the whole park is yours for the slot, it doubles as a training venue: work on recall and focus without other dogs competing for attention, then let the session end on a win. Owners of dogs banned from council parks for poor social skills get a legal off-leash outlet here that they otherwise would not have.

The ground mixes purpose-built play, training and sniffing equipment with open rural running room, and a winter creek for dogs that like a splash. Fencing runs to about four feet, so it contains most dogs comfortably but is not escape-proof for dedicated climbers; keep your dog on lead for arrival and departure in case of gate gaps.

Worth knowing

Booked sessions run in the mornings and afternoons on Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with the park closed midweek from Wednesday to Friday, so plan around that. Being rural, expect grass seeds in summer and mud after rain; check the Sniffspace listing notes before a long drive.

Getting there and parking

Springton sits about an hour northeast of Adelaide, reached via the Gumeracha or Williamstown roads, and Strachans Road parking is on the property. It is a workable detour from a Barossa cellar door day or an Eden Valley wine trip.
