Meander Retreat

Meander Retreat is a self-contained garden studio about 2 km from the Springton hamlet in the Eden Valley, an hour northeast of Adelaide, with a feature most pet-friendly stays cannot match: a large fenced orchard attached to the studio that works as a private off-leash dog park for guests.

Dogs at the retreat

The Garden Studio is the pet-friendly option, taking up to two dogs; other rooms on the property, such as the Green Room, are strictly no pets, so book the Garden Studio specifically. Dogs are welcome inside the studio and in the fenced orchard. Guests are asked to clean up after their dog, not leave it unattended inside for long stretches, and keep it from harassing wildlife or neighbouring farm animals. No weight limit or pet fee is published, so confirm with host Evelyn when booking.

The studio itself

It is a king-bed studio with a private verandah and gas BBQ, full kitchen, laundry and step-free access with parking alongside, sleeping up to three adults. Extras like an easel and acoustic guitar underline the quiet, self-contained feel. Bring your dog's own bowls, food and bedding, as in-studio pet amenities are not listed.

Getting there and parking

Springton sits on the edge of the Barossa and Eden Valley wine country, with free parking directly at the studio door.

While you're out there

A fenced orchard at the door means an off-lead run before bed without loading the car. For outings, the Edenmae Estate Wines cellar door is in Springton, and the Teds Place training park gives a second dog-exercise option.
