Ward Park(Southport)

Ward Park is one of Southport's designated off-leash options, a signed open grass zone where City of Gold Coast allows dogs off leash, with the rest of the park operating under normal leash rules. It sits on Blake Street in the middle of Southport's residential grid, open 24 hours, and it is the kind of unfenced-but-legit option that suits a dog with a reliable recall.

Leash status and ground rules

Council designates a signed open grass zone as the off-leash area, and the boundaries matter: dogs must be leashed outside the zone, and they are prohibited from the children's playground entirely. Handlers are required to maintain effective control, so even inside the off-leash zone the dog should be answering you, not just exploring.
