Rosevears Recreation Ground

Rosevears Recreation Ground is a grassy community ground on Hall Street in Rosevears, a short drive north of Legana in the Tamar Valley. For dog owners, the draw is an unfenced off-lead area with water and bag dispensers on hand.

The off-lead area

West Tamar Council has set aside a designated off-lead dog area on the ground. It is not fenced, so it suits dogs with reliable recall.

What's here

The ground is open grass with a cement cricket pitch, a playground and a large shelter with electric barbecues. Toilets, picnic tables and seats round it out.

There is a drinking fountain with a tap, bins with dog bag dispensers and a car park on site.

Pair it with

If your dog needs a fenced run, the Tanner Drive off-lead dog park in Legana is fully fenced and double gated, with views over the Tamar River. Coffee is at Cafe Romero in Legana.

It suits a relaxed afternoon, with barbecues for you and open grass for the dog. Dogs that bolt are better off at the fenced park.
