Mungarra Reserve is a fenced off-leash dog park in Petrie, set within a scenic City of Moreton Bay reserve with lush greenery, a lake, and natural shade. The fully fenced play area gives you a safe space to let the dog run, with the wider reserve on hand for a longer on-lead walk when the enclosure gets busy.

The rules. Inside the fenced area dogs can be off-leash but must stay under effective voice control. Keep dogs on lead in the non-designated parts of the reserve, especially around the lake and picnic zones. Pick up after your dog; waste bags are generally provided. There is a playground and skate park adjacent, so mind the transition between areas.

What is there. The fenced park has water fountains and a dedicated dog drinking station, plus waste bags. For owners there is shelter, seating, and toilets, with parking near the entrance. Some agility and training equipment, a pavilion, and walking paths round it out.

Getting there. Access is via Petrie with a dedicated car park at the reserve near the entrance. It is a short drive from Petrie Train Station and close to local bus routes if you are coming without a car.

Nearby with the dogs. Old Petrie Town and the Dayboro Road strip have dog-friendly cafes, including Striker Coffee Co and Hygge Cafe, for a coffee after the run.

When to go. The park is busiest early morning and late afternoon on both weekdays and weekends. For a quieter session with a shy dog, aim for mid-morning or early afternoon on a weekday, or a weekend before 9am. If the fenced area is packed, the wider reserve gives you room to walk on lead instead.
