Morris Reserve Dog Off Leash Area

Morris Reserve is a community reserve in Pascoe Vale South, off Brentwood Avenue, with a large open grass area and a sports field. The reserve is generally off-leash, giving dogs room to run freely provided they stay under control, and it draws a steady local crowd.

The rules. Dogs may be off-leash across the reserve under effective voice or hand control. Carry a leash at all times. Dogs must be on-lead within 15 metres of the playground and any picnic or barbecue areas in use, and kept off the playing field during organised sport or training. Bring your own bags, as the council does not supply them here.

What's there. Open running space, a perimeter gravel walking path, a drinking water tap near the pavilion, cricket nets, a separated children's playground and street parking.

Watch-outs. The oval hosts cricket and football, so avoid the field during organised games and training. It is a busy, social reserve, so solid recall makes a real difference at peak times.

Getting there. The reserve is at 11 Brentwood Avenue, with free unrestricted street parking on Brentwood Avenue and the surrounding streets. The 513 bus passes nearby along Cumberland Road, and Pascoe Vale Station on the Craigieburn line is roughly a 15 to 20 minute walk.

Nearby with the dogs. Pair a walk with coffee at Old Faithful Cafe, Parkstone or Cactus, all dog-friendly and close by.

When to go. Early mornings before 7.30am and mid-week afternoons are quietest. Weekday evenings and weekend mornings are busiest, and cricket season fills the oval on weekends. Good for a social dog with reliable recall.
