Your dog must stay under effective voice or hand control, and you must carry a leash the whole time; put it on immediately if your dog threatens or rushes anyone. Dogs are not allowed within 15 metres of the playground at the southern end, must be on lead within 15 metres of the sporting ground, and stay off the oval whenever organised sport is on. Check the fixture schedule before you count on the full field.

Bring your own poo bags, because the council does not supply them at this reserve, and keep dogs out of the local creeks. On the plus side, there is a drinking fountain with taps on site, and the paved circuit around the reserve suits a warm-down walk after a run.

The reserve sits in the residential grid of Pascoe Vale South, with access from the surrounding streets including Lincoln Road and Woodlands Avenue. Street parking is free and usually easy on the blocks around the park. Local bus routes pass close by, and neighbourhood pathways link the reserve into longer walks.

Close by with the dogs

The reserve has dog-friendly cafes on its doorstep: Cactus and Parkstone both welcome dogs at outdoor tables after the run. If you need a fully fenced option instead, Gilpin Park Fenced Dog Park in Brunswick West is the drive-up alternative.
